What to expect
Once your appointment is booked, we will send an intake form via email that will help us to understand how best to work with you and where we might focus. Please complete this before your visit to dedicate more time to hands-on work.
Being mindful of your hydration levels before and after your massage can help your body to integrate the work faster--more water, less coffee. We recommend taking a quick shower before a session if possible--it helps you to feel relaxed going into the session and also prepares the skin for treatment. Please arrive on time or a few minutes early, especially for your first visit. Sessions will end at the scheduled time and are charged the full rate. We will use your intake form and any other concerns or needs you have as basis for discussion about our treatment plan. Once we've completed the brief interview, the therapist will leave the room to allow time for you to get settled into the table under the sheet unless we are doing a clothed session. During your treatment, you will remain covered by the sheet (and blanket if necessary), except for the body part (e.g. leg or arm) we are working on, so you may undress to your comfort level. If you prefer a fully-clothed session, it is useful to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (a tank top/bra top and shorts are useful if you'd like more myofascial/skin-to-skin work done). CranioSacral, Thai, and more sport-oriented work are very conducive to clothed sessions. We will check in with you on pressure, temperature, comfort, and also expect that you'll let us know if you're in any way uncomfortable. We leave the room at the end of the treatment to allow you some privacy as you prepare to leave. You can open the door to indicate you're ready. For most people, we collect payment at the end unless you prefer to do that first. Our practice is strictly non-sexual. |

60 Minutes $100 | 75 Minutes $120 | 90 Minutes $140* A 90-minute session is usually long enough to address the whole body and two to three areas of detailed attention. Shorter sessions can address the whole body plus one or two areas of detail. Each session is different and we work with you and your specific needs and requests to help you achieve your goals. Many sessions for athletes or folks recovering from injury focus on a quadrant or one half of the body, for example. *We do not accept tips at Hark House. The effects of massage are cumulative. As one area of the body releases, this allows us to work on new details. Purchasing a series holds you accountable to your own well-being, saves you some money, and makes arrival and departure quick and easy. Please pay when you receive the first of these sessions (or before). 4-Session Series (save $40) 60-minute 4-Session series: $360 75-minute 4-Session series: $440 90-minute 4-Session series: $520 Cancellation Policy Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel without penalty. Full rate will be billed without 24-hour notice. If you are sick or have another emergency, please give as much notice as possible.
